Sweet Leigha

In her other life, Leigha was called Leila. My friend started calling her Leigha during the ride home from Florida. It just felt right to him.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the names.

Leila is the feminine form of the Hebrew word for "night." As a name, it meant "night beauty". The Hebrew source of the name Leigha means "delicate" or "weary."

From what I have been able to learn of her history, these names seem partiularly appropriate. The first year of her life was difficult. It was a dark night for her and for her person, and I am sad for both of them.

What Leigha knows now is that she is safe and loved. Me, too.
